The Orioles are just 3-12 in Bergesen's last 15 starts vs. a team with a winning record and 2-12 in his last 14 starts vs. the American League East. The Red Sox are an impressive 6-1 in Matsuzaka's last 7 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150 and 14-4 in his last 18 starts as a road favorite. Plus, they are 4-1 in his last 5 starts vs. the Orioles. The Red Sox are 21-5 in their last 26 games as a favorite of -110 to -150, and I'll back them in this price range tonight.

4* NCAAF *BEST BET* on Utah -3 Pitt's offensive line won't be as good as it was last season, at least early on before it can mesh. Also, it's going to take some time for Tino Sunseri to settle in. This Pitt football team has potential, and very well may end up winning the Big East, but I believe it will have some kinks to work out early. The Utes made the decision to bring in quarterback Jordan Wynn in the 8th game last season, allowing him to gain valuable experience that will benefit him this year. Wynn really showed what he is capable of when he took home Offensive MVP honors in the Poinsettia Bowl. Utah has won 21 of its last 22 home games against non-conference opponents. The Utes have also won 17 straight home games. We’ll lay the points tonight.

3* NCAAF *Crunch Time Bailout* on USC -21 USC looks like a dangerous football team tonight as it enters the season with a big chip on its shoulder after getting hit with a postseason ban and scholarship reductions. Plus, it isn't eligible to win the Pac-10. This means that the Trojans will be playing for pride and to see how many wins they can put on the board. Look for the Trojans to send a message tonight that USC is still USC. Plays against home teams that had a poor passing defense last season, one that allowed a completion percentage of 58% or higher, with 5 offensive starters returning, are 23-1 ATS the 5 seasons. Kiffin says he's going to open up the playbook on offense, and I expect that to result in a convincing win tonight.
