The Yankees now face the daunting task of coming back from a 2-0 series deficit, which is even harder when losing the first two at home. The Yankees have not hit collectively very well in these playoffs and have only made it through largely in part to the timely home runs on Raul Ibanez. With all of their super stars struggling they will have to rely on their pitching. They will need to break through and beat Justin Verlander if they have any hops of getting to another World Series. Staff ace C.C Sabathia will once again have to be at his best for the Yankees to have a chance. As we look at the chart below we see that the Yankees will have to buck history in this one as we note that in the Semifinal round teams down 0-2 having lost the first two at home have a 4-6 record in game 3 and are 0-10 in series play.
