Football Matchups From The NFL And NCAA

As the weather gets colder, the pressure heats up on the football field. Here is a look at the best matchups in the sportsbook for this week in football.

NFL

Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers – Nick Foles shocked everyone on Earth by throwing seven TDs against Oakland. But his Eagles will surely be underdogs on the road in Green Bay, where Philly has won just once in five trips since 1996.

Carolina Panthers @ San Francisco 49ers – Two streaking teams meet in San Francisco as the 49ers have won five in a row, while Carolina has four straight under their belt. The Panthers are 6.5-point underdogs on the road, but they have won three consecutive meetings with the 49ers.

Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers – Denver comes back after a bye week with a visit to San Diego, where the Broncos have won three of their last four. The Broncos are favored by a touchdown.

NCAA Football

Oklahoma at Baylor – The #10 Sooners have won 16 of 17 against the #6 Bears, which is a reason why OU is favored by 14 points on the road in this Big 12 matchup. However, Baylor has a lot to prove; they want to show they’re no fluke on Thursday.

Oregon at Stanford – The #3 Ducks are trying to keep pace in the BCS standings, and they’re favored by 10 on Thursday night at #5 Stanford.  The Cardinal have won two of their last four against the Ducks, and they have their own ranking to worry about.

LSU at Alabama – The top-ranked Crimson Tide are still on the hunt for their third straight BCS title, and they’re being tipped by 11 at home over the #13 Tigers, who have lost four of their last six to Alabama. But remember, they won in Tuscaloosa in 2011, so LSU won’t be afraid of the Tide.
