North Carolina has been an great story this year. Picked to be at the bottom of ACC they have risen to be a formidable opponent.
On the other hand the Mountaineers were in the top 10 in the beginning of the year. After beating Oklahoma in the BCS Bowl and returning 18 starters West Virginia was looked at as a BCS contender. Unfortunately, a big part of their offense from last year ( Slaton RB) is rushing for the Houston Texans on the senior circuit.
Carolina is a ball hawking team when teams like to put it up in the air. T. Goddard CB of the Tarheels leads the nation with 7 INT's. Carolina also has an All American WR in Hakem Nicks that will keep Carolina drives alive.
Mountaineers are led by Senior QB Pat White who has become one one the top college QB's of all time. They have 18 Seniors on both sides of the ball. Eventhough this team feels they underachieved they will come out playing.
Analysis:
Look for UNC to jump on top. It takes WVU sometimes a littel to get going because they tend to rely heavily on P. White QB.
West Virginia leads the nation in red zone defense. They have quick LB's and CB's but tend to play soft and give easy first downs. Then they lock in in the red zone. That will bode well as the Tar Heels will have many opportunities missed. WVU also has an excellent kicker in P. Mcafee.
I like the Mountaineers to give P. White a nice farewell and send him off to victory! Watch for a flea flicker from West Virginia and a fake punt!
