Game 1 of the NBA Finals is just around the corner as the Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers to get things started. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has the Warriors listed at 5-12 odds to win it all, while the Cavaliers are listed as 2-1 to win it all. Jeff Sherman the head NBA oddsmaker for the SuperBook explained to ESPN "We take who would be the favorite in each game, by how many points, and what the money line would be. We then put individual prices in and it calculates what the series price should be."
The sports books had the Cavs listed as long shots prior to LeBron James returning to the team, but it didn't phase the books as they quickly adjusted the price from 60-1 all the way down to 5-2.
Although the Cavaliers and Warriors both started out as long shots to the win the title the sports books are expecting to lose money no matter which team wins because of big bets that came in as the Cavs and Warriors moved closer to the favorites.
As always Good luck out there!
