Two Super Bowl Long Shots to Consider

The Playoff Season is here and numerous public favorites are in the mix, and what I mean by that is teams that the public love to bet, out of either blind loyalty or other means, but I ask you to consider two teams who should make some noise and perhaps pull an upset in both the AFC and NFC.

While New England is a 8/5 odds on favorite to win it all, and Dallas sits at 15/4, and of course the Network wants this dream match up for the Super Bowl, I think both these teams will challenged at home in the AFC and NFC Champions games when the dust settles. I have two sleeper teams who are worth a half unit long shot wager on the futures market. Remember these are long shots but either one of these teams landing in the Super Bowl and contending would not surprise me.

Atlanta Falcons – NFC 19/2 odds to win the Super Bowl

No doubt Atlanta was playing some of the best football at seasons end, and QB Matt Ryan is at the top of the heap in offense and is seeing numerous post season accolades coming his way, and why not, he leads the #2 overall offense in the NFL, the #1 scoring offense in the NFL, and they also were 10-6 ATS this season. WR Jones is uncoverable and makes plays all over the place, they have a running game, and they have play-makers everywhere. While they cannot stop a team like Dallas on defense whom they may end up playing, they can score with anyone and that makes them very dangerous. If the Dirty Birds can halfway balance their offensive attack and get a few breaks and or a positive turnover ratio in a championship game they can in fact win the NFC Championship and anyone who sees them in the Super Bowl will need to score 30+ to beat them. Well worth a look as a long shot.

Kansas City – AFC 10/1 odds to win the Super Bowl

Andy Reid has a damn good team, but the knock on KC is QB Alex Smith is not good enough to get them to the promise land. Well all he does is win folks, one of the winning-est QB’s in the last 5 years in the NFL. Kansas City is extremely well coached, a disciplined team that does not get careless with the football, and they make a lot of things happen, both on defense and defensive scoring as well as Tyreek Hill on special teams, a play-making rookie who can flat out take it to the house on any play he is involved in. QB Smith is a good game manager, TE Travis Kelce is one of the best Slot / Tight End players in the NFL behind Gronk, and the Chiefs have a ball hawking secondary capable of making plays. Perhaps the most complete team overall with numerous positive intangibles that is in the post season. Looks like they will play Pittsburgh at Arrowhead which is a revenge game for them, and all roads go through New England who beat them last year in the playoffs and KC gave them a hell of a game for 3 quarters there. Do not discount their chances, this is the most talented team Andy Reid has ever coached.
