The Duke Blue Devils are a 1.5-point favorite over the Florida State Seminoles as Duke looks to exact some revenge on the Seminoles after their buzzer-beater shocked the Blue Devils and helped set up a much-ballyhooed second meeting. I have this locked in on Duke as a pick-em, but the line has moved and may continue to do so, meaning if you are on Duke you should lock it in as quickly as possible. Duke comes in at 23-4, while Florida State is 19-7, but both are 10-2 in the ACC, sitting behind 11-2 North Carolina. The winner tonight will move into a tie with UNC and guarantee a first-round bye in the ACC tournament, while the loser will drop to third. Florida State is 6-0 at home in conference, while Duke is 6-0 on the road in the ACC. The first meeting is unlikely to be repeated, even though Duke will be on the road this time instead of on their home court at Cameron Indoor Stadium. In the first meeting, Florida State shot the lights out while Duke struggled from the floor. Florida State hit 54 percent of its shots and 50 percent of its three point attempts, nine percent and 17 percent above its season averages. This against a Duke team that allows opponents to hit 43.6 percent from the floor but just 31.3 percent from three-point range. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils shot just 39.7 percent from the floor while hitting 43.5 percent of their three-point attempts. Duke missed its season average from the floor by seven percent, while hitting four percent more three pointers. Those deviations from their averages made a huge difference in a game decided by three points. Duke is led offensively by freshman Austin Rivers, averaging 15 points per game. Seth Curry chips in with 13.6 points, while Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee each score more than 11 points per game and Plumlee adds 9.7 rebounds. Florida State is led by Michael Snaer, who hit the game-winner in the first meeting with Duke, and averages 13.5 points per game. Ian Miller averages 10.5 points, while Bernard James scores 10.4 and hauls in 8.2 rebounds per game. Florida State is built more around its defense, leading the conference in field goal percentage defense at 37.0 percent. Florida State allows just 60.8 points per game, but has a tough task in trying to stop a talented Blue Devils squad focused on revenge and aiming to claim its usual spot at or near the top of the conference. Duke is also 5-0 against the spread in its last five road games and 4-0 against the number in its last four games as a road favorite. Duke is 16-5 versus the number in its last 21 games as a favorite of .5 points to 6.5 points. Florida State is just 1-4 against the spread in its last five games and 3-7 against the spread in its last 10 home games against teams with winning road records.
