Los Angeles comes in off a win in Boston last night, and head coach Doc Rivers goes from playing his former team to playing two integral parts of that former team in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The Clippers are on an extended East Coast road trip while playing their third game in four nights and their sixth game in nine nights. This is not a good scheduling spot at all for Los Angeles.
Brooklyn has been dysfunctional all season. The Nets are just 7-14 SU on the season, but they have won their last 2 games. But those wins came over Milwaukee and Boston; they are taking a major step-up in class tonight. This is a tough game to handicap as the Clippers are not playable because of their negative scheduling spot, while the Nets are an unpredictable team right now with their inconsistent play.

Houston and Portland have played terrific basketball all season. The Rockets are 15-7 SU and the Blazers are 18-4 SU. Houston handed Portland one of their two home losses this season in a 116-101 win in early November. Houston has had a full 3 days to get ready for tonight’s game.
Portland has had 2 full days of rest since their last game so they’ll be ready to avenge their earlier loss to Houston. The Blazers also lost their last home game so tonight’s game has meaning to them. Both teams are in good scheduling spots for this game tonight.
