Here is the college football betting notepad for week 1 from Joe Duffy's Picks, long-time handicapper featured on VegasTopDogs.com

Thursday, September 3

Ohio-Idaho

Ohio has lost starting TE Troy Mangen for the season. He was sixth on the team in catches in 2015, snagging 19. He started 14 games the last two years, 10 last season.

Friday, September 4

Washington-Boise State

The Huskies were already rebuilding their offensive line with just two returning starters. Now the most experienced of them Dexter Charles has been forced to retire. The guard had started 30 games.

Kent-Illinois

Senior DE Jihad Ward, honorable mention All-Big Ten last year, is out. Last season, he has 51 tackles, 8.5 for a loss.

Saturday, September 5, 2015

UL Lafayette-Kentucky

This could be a look ahead for UK as in consecutive weeks they play South Carolina, Florida, and Missouri. Patrick Towles, who threw for 2,718 yards last season staved off highly touted frosh Drew Barker to win the starting QB job.

UTEP-Arkansas

Razorbacks leading rusher Jonathan Williams will miss the season. He was one of two returning 1,000-yard rushers.

Stanford-Northwestern

Stanford WR Michael Rector is suspended indefinitely but has not been ruled out of the opener. He is the No. 2 returner receiver with 24 catches in 2014.

Texas-Notre Dame

DT Jarron Jones, who was second on the team in tackles for a loss last year with 7.5, is done for the season. They still have nine more starters on defense.

BYU-Nebraska

Both teams have several suspended players, but are secretive about whom until game time. One is believed to be a starting defensive player for Nebraska.
