Pro Bettors Clipboard Redskins vs. Titans

By: Joe Duffy     Date: Aug 7, 2013
Print Article

The top NFL handicapper in the world, Joe Duffy shares some of his pro gamblers’ clipboard for the Washington-Tennessee game.

Redskins-Titans

Quarterback Jake Locker and the starters are likely to play roughly 20 snaps before Ryan Fitzpatrick and the other backups enter the game. Defensively, look for a more aggressive, attacking style as coaches Jerry Gray and Gregg Williams test different looks. Washington Coach Mike Shanahan said he expects his starters to play 10-15 snaps.

The Titans are currently seven deep with NFL-caliber receivers.

There’s an excellent chance that the Redskins will open with three rookies in the secondary against the Titans, thanks in part to injuries. They are: corner David Amerson who will replace DeAngelo Hall, sitting out after hurting his ankle earlier in camp; safety Bacarri Rambo, the starter from the first day of camp; and safety Phillip Thomas, who would start if Brandon Meriweather does not. It’s unlikely Meriweather would play considering he only returned to full work Monday after a week off because of his right knee.

Star quarterback Robert Griffin III is going to sit out this game and likely all of the preseason. Kirk Cousins and Rex Grossman are the top two QBs. Left tackle Trent Williams, who has been practicing with a sprained left wrist, and safety Brandon Meriweather, who has had his participation in full team drills limited during training camp as he comes back from a knee injury, also could be strong candidates to sit out the preseason opener.
