I made us some money last week when I picked Luke List (-125) to beat Patrick Rodgers in their Round 2 matchup at the Bermuda Championship.
It was super close, with List shooting a 72 and Rodgers a 73. But in this case, close counts and netted us a nice profit.
This week my PGA TOUR round 2 matchup from the Vivint Houston Open features Lee Westwood (-115) vs. Maverick McNealy (-125). There’s not a whole lot of recent play to help predict the outcome in this one, however there are a couple factors that are leading me to choose the Maverick.
The first factor is yesterday. McNealy is currently at T45 after shooting an opening round +1 (71). Westwood on the other hand shot a +7 (77) and currently sits outside the current projected cut, which is at +2.
The second, and maybe the biggest factor, is the fact that Westwood is in the field at the Masters next week, while McNealy will be watching it on TV like the rest of us. I don’t see Westwood being motivated to go low and make the cut, looking ahead to Augusta.
