Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers (WIN)
When you hover around the All-Star Game, you must severely limit your plays until the dust clears. Teams are jockeying lineups & rotations regularly in hopes of finding the best chemistry for the 2nd half stretch run. However, I feel a play is warranted here with the Cubbies' Justin Steele. He's hot & excels @ not yielding runs in the 1st inning. In fact, he's yielded just 6 ER's in his last 5 outings. He carries an 8-2 record with an ERA around 2 1/2. The last start he's yielded a run in the 1st was back on May 26th versus a hot Cincinnati club. Steele's bread & butter pitches are a 4-seam fastball (uses it 63% of pitches) & a slider (throws it 33% of the time) where's he's shown great mechanics & a consistent command from the get-go's. My line shows extreme value here as I gauge the true odds @ 8-1 instead of the actual sportsbook offer of 3 & change. He won't be intimidated by a Brew Crew whose lacked pop of late. Being on the divisional road, Steele will have laser focus from the start versus a Milwaukee offense hitting a meek .232. Let's roll to American Family Field to play the MILWAUKEE BREWERS-NO SCORE 1ST INNING for 9 Stars as my Late Steam Humpday Hottie!
Mike Handzelek's 2023 MLB Overall Record: 27-7 for a climbing 79%
