Thursday, October 24, 2024 Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams (NFL) - 8:15 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Total: 47.5/-110 Under Rating: 5* Mike's Thursday Night 2-Teamer (WIN) +500 LATE STEAM PARLAY ANALYSIS: There's not much to read into for this game but I'm certainly going to start with familiarity. For this one pits the ex-Rams OC & now Minnesota Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell (in his 3rd season) gets to face his ex-boss in Rams' HC Sean McVay (8th season). Both HC's know they run a base 11 offense (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) in which they use a limited playbook of lineup combos (Los Angeles ranks 2nd while Minnesota's 4th). These 2 are very familiar with what they'll be attacking with. However, there's a BIG edge on defense (or lack thereof) that could very well decide this game. The Vikings' leading tackler & catalyst ILB Blake Cashman (a Twin Cities native) will be on the sidelines instead of plugging the middle for DC Brian Flores' aggressive 3-4 scheme. My bottom line says this will hamper the Purple People Eaters versatility immensely throughout. Minnesota is a playoff caliber team but being ranked 30th versus the pass before Cashman went down is not a good sign. In addition, the more-desperate L.A. squad (currently 2-4 & in last place in the NFC West & with another divisional game @ Seattle on deck) are in a MUST-WIN situation. QB Matt Stafford should get a BIG boost in his arm knowing his top 2 talented WR's in Cooper Kupp & Puka Nacua are now both back in the lineup. I further feel the familiarity with both HC's drag this one UNDER the total if we push it to score 8 TD's.
