In the Willy Adames trade last May, Rasmussen came over from Milwaukee as a reliever. Pitching coach Kyle Snyder then converted him into a 4 to 5-inning starter that has paid off BIG dividends for Tampa Bay. His mechanics have been awe-inspiring. Besides the main pitch in his arsenal (a 4-seam fastball), his 2-plane action slider (with a 4.5 inch horizontal break) is a new pitch that's very tough to adjust to. His cutter still remains as another go-to pitch while sparingly using a change-up. His 2.80 overall ERA is great but what really stands out for us is his 1.04 ERA over his last 3 starts & an off-the-charts 0.86 ERA in day games this season. With KC hitting .234 versus RHP'ing, I expect that number to be much lower to start. I feel Snell's 4-seam fastball & slider has looked very tough to hit of late as witnessed by his 1.02 ERA over his last 3 starts. In fact, Blake has given up just 3 just ER's over his last 5 appearances. He's recently shown command over these same Nationals in Washington just 5 days ago pitching 6 s, hutout innings. He's looked better over the long haul in night games (than day) where he's registered a nifty 3.24 ERA. Add it all up & we'll go to Petco Park in SD to specifically play the WASHINGTON NATIONALS-NO SCORE-1st Inning as my 8* Friday Night Fricassee!
