Saturday, February 15, 2020 Cleveland State vs. Detroit (NCAAB) - 1:00 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -240 Detroit Rating: 8* Mike's CBB Earlybird Dependable (LOSS) HC Mike Davis has a Super Soph in 6'1" guard Antoine Davis (yes, it's the coach's son) whose averaging close to 24 PPG . He's been stellar on his home hardwoods. Last season, his 132 3-point conversions eclipsed the all-time freshman record set by now Golden State star Stephen Curry. Interesting is the fact that Kentucky transfer Brad Calipari (John's son) is getting some serious playing time (over 21 minutes per game & 7 PPG) since making the move from Lexington. History also shows the Titans have beaten the Vikings the last 4 @ home. Look for that to continue as we go to Calihan Hall to play the DETROIT MERCY TITANS for the "W" as my 8* CBB Earlybird Dependable! Illinois vs. Rutgers (NCAAB) - 4:30 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -180 Rutgers Rating: 8* Big Ten Play Of The Weekend (WIN) The Scarlet Knights come into this game healthy which is more than I can say for the Fighting Illini with their recent shooting guard Ayo Dosunmu (16 PPG) going down with an ankle injury in their 70-69 home loss to Michigan State on Tuesday. After an improved 14-17 record last season, HC Steve Pikiell (4th season) is showing that $125 million spent on a new practice facility is well worth it as Rutgers sits @ 17-8 overall just a few games behind Big Ten leader Maryland. The experience his team has learned from their summer trip to Spain looks like it's now paying off. With the backcourt tandem help from Ron Harper, Jr. & Geo Baker, the boys from Piscataway have dominated teams @ "The RAC" going 16-1 SU thus far. Let's go to Rutgers Athletic Center to play the RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS to continue their roll as my Big Ten Play Of The Weekend! Eastern Kentucky vs. Austin Peay (NCAAB) - 5:00 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Point Spread: 12/-110 Eastern Kentucky Rating: 8* Mike's Ohio Valley Valued Dogger Play (WIN) Before we give too many accolades to the Governors of Austin Peay for a successful 17-9 (11-2 conference) record thus far, let's not overlook the uprising Colonels who sit just 1 game behind in the Ohio Valley Conference @ 10-3. The betting public & oddsmakers continue to over-value Austin Peay (1-3-1 ATS the last 5) & under-value Eastern Kentucky (4-1 ATS their last 5) heading in. The key numbers to remember is 4-0 ATS which represents the Colonels' road underdog record their past 4. Let's go to Clarksville, Tennessee's Winfield Dunn Center to play the EASTERN KENTUCKY COLONELS as my Ohio Valley Valued Dogger Play! Arizona vs. Stanford (NCAAB) - 10:30 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Point Spread: 4.5/-110 Stanford Rating: 8* Mike's Saturday Night Bailout Play (LOSS) Arizona & Stanford are VERY close in talent. However, the 16-8 SU Trees are coming in frustrated riding a 3-game losing skein that includes a rare home loss to Arizona State and an OT @ Utah. The Cardinal are a proven commodity @ home overall going 12-3 thus far with a signature 70-60 win over PAC-12 favorite Oregon. Even though this series has gone the Wildcats way SU the past 10 times, their past performances on Saturday has shown their under-achievement versus the number & over-value by the oddsmakers as their 7-19-1 ATS record indicates the past 27. HC Jerod Haase has something to look forward to as his top 100 recruit & freshman guard Tyrell Terry (16 PPG, 32 MPG) has shown good dependability in points & minutes per game. Haase has definitely moved the program in the right direction after their dismal 16-17 finish last year. Let's ride the STANFORD CARDINAL @ Maples Pavilion (buying to +6) as my Saturday Night Bailout Play! Virginia vs. North Carolina (NCAAB) - 8:00 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Point Spread: 2/-110 Virginia Rating: 8* Mike's CBB Prime Timer (WIN) It's no secret that HC Roy Williams & his Tar Heels are in some serious do-do after going 0-for February thus far. The Heels sit @ 10-14 (3-10 good for last palce in the ACC) & have NOT held up very well @ this venue going 5-7 SU. The 3rd UNC player to go down to injury is their most accurate 3-point shooter in 6-4" senior guard Brandon Robinson (13.1 PPG). Lacking depth in the backcourt has been a problem recently as Duke erased a double-digit lead & shocked the Tar Heels 98-96 in OT last Saturday in Chapel Hill. The defending NCAA champion Cavaliers aren't as dominating as last season @ 16-7 (8-5 in the ACC) but they've hung around on the road with the best of them as witnessed by a close 54-50 @ 20-4 Florida State. Look for a barn-burner again but I feel Virginia can get the "W". Let's travel to the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill to play the VIRGINIA CAVALIERS (buying to + 5 1/2) as my CBB Prime Timer! 3-2 for 60%
