This will be an interesting playoff run with some scrappy teams pulling off the upset here and there, however Baltimore from the American League and Atlanta from the National League have simply been too good all year to faulter here and will meet up in the World Series, with the strong pitching, bullpen and line up too strong for Atlanta to lose as they take the series in six. How to we get there you say: in the 3-6 match up in the AL it will be the Blue Jays knocking off the Twins in three games as their power bats and power arms in the bullpen will be the difference in game three. The 5-4 match up of Texas and Tampa Bay will see the Rangers squeaking out a victory in game one and a big explosion of runs in game three to end things in their favor. Houston vs. Toronto will be a lovely ALDS series going the distance, but with game five in their place and Verlander on the mound it will be Houston advancing to yet another ALCS in five. Baltimore will host Texas and sweep them in three game as they have their pitching lined up and playing strong fundamental baseball to advance to the ALCS. In the championship series it will be an epic seven game series for the ages as the teams go back and forth with the home field being the deciding factor for Baltimore with a quirky play coming into the fold and leading to a late run and a tight victory for Baltimore who advances to the World Series for the first time in a long time. For in the National League: Arizona against Milwaukee in the wildcard round will go three with Arizona taking the first one Milwaukee breaking a tie late in game two to even things up before Arizona's smooth fielding saves them in game three to advance. Miami and Philadelphia is the only divisional match up of the wildcard round and will also be the only sweep as the pitching is lined up for Philadelphia who win twice comfortably to advance. In the second round Philadelphia will take on Atlanta and lose in four games scratching out one at home but other wise dominated in the three losses as the Braves ease into the NLCS. Arizona and LA Dodgers will be a longer series as these division foes play the full five and the Dodgers take game five at home easily to advance to the NLCS. This is a great match up and will be tightly contested, but Atlanta will need just five games as the Dodger pitching has no landing spots for easy outs in a very circular Atlanta line up. Baltimore will fight had and take a couple of games in this World Series but are still a year or two young making some mistakes as the Braves capitalize and win the championship.
