The following article will enlighten YOU on the impact of TURNOVERS in the NFL after 6 games are played. While I was in transit on a train the other day I heard a guy say " HC's are scams. All you have to do is look at which team has+- TO margin and look at Red Zone stats and ANYONE can be a HC" Of course, I couldn't just go by and just go to bathroom without some of my Educated input. I didn't take offense to his comments. Instead, I said can I enlighten you guys with some interesting information. Here it goes: In a nutshell over the last 5 years TO's mean more with SU plays than with ATS plays after 6 weeks into the season. Case in point: Over the last 5 years after 6 weeks= Of the 116 teams that had a positive TO Ratio after six weeks, only 44 (37.9%) of them won less than 50% of their remaining games. The cumulative record the rest of the way was 721-599 SU & 649-638 ATS. In conclusion: Vegas tends to over react to TO's more so then the actual result of game. Check these stat out: 1) Play On - Road teams - after 2 consecutive games where they forced 1 or less turnovers against opponent after a game where they forced 3 or more turnovers. (41-15 over the last 5 seasons.) (73.2%, +24.5 units. Rating = 2*) The straight up record of the team this system pertains to is : (31-25 over the last 5 seasons.) The average line posted in these games was: Opponent favored by 4 The average score in these games was: Team 23.8, Opponent 21 (Average point differential = +2.8) The number of games in which this system covered the spread by 7 or more points was 28 (50% of all games.) 2) Play Under - Home teams where the total is between 42.5 and 49 points - after a game where they committed 4 or more turnovers. (160-104 since 1983.) (60.6%, +45.6 units. Rating = 2*) The average total posted in these games was: 44.8 The average score in these games was: Team 22.6, Opponent 20.2 (Total points scored = 42.8) The number of games in which this system covered the total by 7 or more points was 98 (37.5% of all games.)
