This is a solid match up of left handed pitchers in New York Monday night 1-0 Patrick Corbin against 0-2 Steven Matz. Matz is 0-2 for the Mets with a 5.65 ERA in three starts all of which were Met losses, but has pitched better than that and all three games were Met losses by two runs each. Matz is just looking for some run support as well as keeping the ball in the yard as he has allowed five homeruns in 14 1/3 innings. Corbin has pitched 12 innings, struck out 16, issued one walk, one homerun, 10 hits and only four runs. Look for Corbin to continue his quality pitching while Matz allows a couple more homeruns in a 6-3 win for the Nationals to open this series in New York. Play Washington
