Free Sports Game Preview and Prediction: Vegas Golden Knights vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Tuesday, June 02, 2026 8:00 PM
Play: Point Spread: -1.5/170 Carolina Hurricanes
Hurricanes PL -1.5 +155
We get Game 1 of the Stanley Cup here, and remember, this Hurricanes team is fantastic defensively, only giving up 1.62 goals per game in the playoffs. Vegas has been playing great defensively as well, 2.68gpg allowed.
The Golden Knights, who are riding a 6-game winning streak, and the Hurricanes, who are looking to become the first NHL team to go 16-1 in the postseason, are both chasing a second Cup title in franchise history.
Carolina—the former Hartford Whalers franchise, which became the Hurricanes for the 1997-98 season—won their only Cup in 2006 and had not reached the finals since. Vegas, which won in 2023, is in the finals for the third time in its nine-year history.
What's important to remember however, players on this season's Vegas roster played on that 2022-23 team.
At the end of the day here though, I like the Canes in Game 1. I think they come out fast as they have many times in these playoffs and get the first goal and go from there. The last two games vs the Canadiens, Carolina won 4-0 and 6-1, so they have really played six great periods in a row, and we will roll with the Canes on the puck line here.
