Get all 4 Big Winners and bust your book. Free Winner: Utah State This may not be a flashy game with a lot of pizzazz, but there’s still money to be made in it. The Aggies took last year’s matchup at home, 31-20. That was when the Huskies were taken over by head coach, Jim Mora and were a good headline. They won six regular season games and covered nine outings. But going back to last November, this team has now dropped six in a row straight up, covering only once. This season is shaping up to be tragic, as they are winless and being outscored by an average of 18.0 points per game. Sandwiched between NC State and Duke were two teams they should’ve competed against in Georgia State and Florida International. The only thing more pitiful than their defensive numbers (100th in points allowed) is there offensive numbers, as they rank 132nd in scoring, averaging just 13.0 points per game. They’ve turned the ball over four times, while their defense hasn’t grabbed a single takeaway yet. Granted, Utah State is just 1-3 straight up, but at least they’ve covered a couple of games against the likes of Iowa and Idaho State. In their defense, they have played a couple of solid opponents in the aforementioned Hawkeyes, along with the Falcons of Air Force, and the Dukes of James Madison. They’ve got a solid quarterback and a couple of good running backs, and because of this, they’re averaging over 37.8 points per game. They don’t turn the ball over too often and their defense has four takeaways already. I think the line should be much higher here. Maybe the oddsmakers are thinking that because it’s an early game and Utah State had to travel across country, that the Aggies should only be a 6.5-point favorite. I have the number here being closer to double-digits. Lay the points with Utah State.
