We expected TCU to be a bit more of a factor this season in the Big 12, but defensive inconsistencies troubled the Horned Frogs who went just 5-4 in conference play. TCU ranks 70th in the nation in total defense compared to 25th in offense. The main issue for us with TCU coming into this matchup is starting QB Hoover has opted for the transfer portal making the QB position a less ideal situation for the Horned Frogs. USC has quietly had a very solid year standing 9-3 overall and 7-2 in the Big Ten, ranking 10th in the nation in offensive output and 49th in total defense. USC will have their starting QB playing in this bowl game which is a huge positive for their chances. TCU could be fairly limited in their pass game given WR Dwyer being out with an injury and their starting QB moving on. We like USC’s position here coming in as just under a TD favorite.
