Maybe this World Series matchup isn't as exciting as perhaps a Yankee/Dodgers battle. But just the same, this is a very good series. As we all know, Los Angeles took the series-opener on the road, 11-4. Game 2 saw Toronto dominate with a big 5-1 victory. Now the series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3, where the Dodgers are one of the best home teams in all of baseball. Granted, during the regular season the Blue Jays left a bit to be desired on the road. This postseason saw Los Angeles win five of their six postseason games played on their own field, while Toronto has taken three of their last four postseason games played as a visitor. There is no question both offenses have exploded during this season's playoffs. There is also no question the L.A. pitching staff has been consistently stronger. Speaking of which, Max Scherzer and Tyler Glasnow are scheduled today. The Blue Jays right-hander will make history this evening becoming the first pitcher to take the mound for four different teams in the World Series. There is no denying he has significantly more postseason experience than Glasnow, with this being his 32nd appearance. He is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in four postseason appearances against the Dodgers, which includes three starts. In his only playoffs start of 2025, he dominated the Mariners on the road back on October 16, going 5.2 strong innings, and only allowing two earned runs. The Los Angeles right-hander had a mediocre regular season, in 18 starts, sporting a 3.19 ERA, and going 4-3. He has certainly improved on that in this year's playoffs, possessing a 0.68 ERA in three appearances, which includes two starts. However, he has struggled over his career against Toronto. In 11 career regular season starts against the Blue Jays, Glasnow is 1-4 with a 5.82 ERA. While I give an edge to Los Angeles playing at home, and yes, they're starting pitcher owns better numbers than his counterpart this postseason, I don't feel Toronto is going to roll over here. This is a team that took the Yankees down with authority, before showing what they are made of coming back from being down 0-2, to beat the Mariners. I also feel their starting pitcher has significantly more postseason experience, which really does mean a lot. Making them this much of an underdog certainly brings us enormous value.
