My friends, even when New York was at full force, they struggled at the plate. Since Aaron Judge has gone down, things have gone from bad to worse. They have lost six of the last 10 outings. But still sit in third place in the most competitive division in baseball. The team with the second-best overall record in the A.L. is the Texas Rangers. Maybe it’s because they own the top-scoring offense in baseball, along with the top 10 batting average, and the seventh ranked pitching staff. Dane Dunning, and Clark Schmidt are scheduled starters today. The Rangers right-hander is 6-1 with a 2.78 ERA in 2023. As a starter this season, he is 4-1 with a 3.25 ERA. And over his last three turns, he is 2-0 with a 4.86 ERA. He has made for career appearances which includes three starts against the Yankees, going 1-1 with a 2.50 ERA. On the other hand, the Yankees right-hander has not won a start over his last five outings. He hasn’t pitched too badly, but he has gotten no run support whatsoever. As a matter fact, the lineup has not accounted for more than two runs in those five outings. Guys, to me, it’s a no-brainer: you’ve got an offense struggling to score runs going up against a lineup that possesses the most-explosive order in baseball.
