Take #974 Angels Over Rangers We like the Angels as our complimentary free play tonight. Cal Quantrill gets the start for Texas in place of the injured Nathan Eovaldi. Quantrill has been solid overall with a 3.56 ERA, but he has spent much of the season moving between the rotation and bullpen. He went 1-4 across his seven starts between June 23 and August 3 before returning to relief duty. Quantrill does have a strong history against Los Angeles, posting a 3.35 ERA in nine career appearances against the Angels. However, the matchup sets up differently tonight, and we believe the Angels can generate enough offense to make his return to the rotation difficult. Los Angeles counters with Klassen, who has made a major turnaround since his early-season struggles. He posted an ugly 11.57 ERA in two April starts while walking 10 hitters in just 4? innings. After being sent to Triple-A, however, he completely turned things around, posting a 2.57 ERA across his next 12 starts and going through a stretch of 65 consecutive batters without issuing a walk. That improved command is the key. If Klassen can continue throwing strikes and keeping traffic off the bases, we believe he can keep Texas in check while the Angels' offense takes advantage of Quantrill.
