With only two games left in their Big 12 regular season schedule, the conference’s top-team, the 7-0 TCU Horned Frogs, which by the way are a perfect 10-0 overall, still need to win. Granted, they have Iowa State which is the worst team in the conference on deck. And they have already beaten the only team in the Big 12 that could even tie their conference record, Kansas State. So why do they still need to win here this week against Baylor? I think we all would agree that if they did drop a game, it just might drop them out of an opportunity to play in the College Football Playoff. Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan are all also undefeated and sitting ahead in the polls. Just behind is Tennessee with just one-loss. I could run down the rest of the top-10 but I think we will get the picture. They won’t leave their destiny in the hands of the pollsters. This is a team that must win here this week. Yes, they have the Cyclones up next, which have just one-victory in conference play this season. But a loss here could possibly put them out of the CFP picture. This isn’t just a team winning straight up. They’ve also been money to us bettors. Do you guys realize they’re only three-points away from covering all 10-contests this season? The Baylor Bears are certainly a formidable opponent. However, I think seeing them dismantled last week at the hands of the Kansas State Wildcats, 31-3, their weaknesses can certainly be exploited. The Bears just can’t match the Horned Frogs offensively at all. TCU has a slew of big game playmakers that make explosive plays. Not only that, but this team has outscored their last five opponents 62-21 in the fourth quarter alone. Their offensive and defensive lines wear down opponents, and come the second half, take advantage. They are equally strong in the air as well as on the ground. And because they’re so well-balanced, the Baylor defense will be back-pedaling and on their heels all game. Look for the Bears to self-destruct anyway here. In their three Big 12 losses, they’ve lost the turnover battle 8-2. And I really don’t see Max Duggan making nearly as many mistakes as Blake Shapen. The 1-2 punch of quarterback Duggan and running back Miller have faced and beaten better defenses. They’ve also had their way in the series taking seven of the last 10 straight up and eight of the last 10 against the spread. This includes the two most recent meetings over the last two seasons. Oh, by the way they’re also a perfect 5-0 against the spread the last five meetings at McLane Stadium. Under a field goal as a gift here. Play TCU. Thank you.
