West with a record of just 4-4, I feel they're going to put their foot on the gas here today. On the opposite side of the spectrum, not much is expected of Los Angeles this season, as they sit closer to the bottom of the barrel in the division at 3-5. The M’s took Game 1 of this series, while the Angels took Game 2 yesterday. Prior to yesterday’s defeat, Seattle dominated this rivalry taking five straight, and seven of the previous nine matchups. Both teams are accounting for approximately the same amount of run output. But the pitching staff for the visitor here has been significantly stronger. Luis Castillo and Ryan Johnson are slated here today. In his only outing this season, the Mariners right-hander did not earn a decision, however he did pitch 6.0 innings, yielding just three hits, and striking out seven batters, while walking only two, as the team did defeat the best team in baseball right now, the New York Yankees. He's a solid starter that can fan opposing batters with the best of them, and usually dependable to go deep in a game. As far as Johnston goes, he lost his only outing this season, getting shelled for 6.0 earned runs on seven hits in just 3.1 IP, back on March 30 on the road as the team was downed by the Chicago Cubs, 7-2. Last season in 14.7 IP, he allowed 24 hits and 12 earned runs. If he thought his first outing was bad, wait till he takes the mound today, my friends. Take the Mariners. Thank you.
