San Francisco sits in third place, 5.5-games back at 29-30. This is a perfect opportunity for them to get a big win over a division rival, and hit the .500 mark. Colorado dwells in the cellar, 9.5-games back at a dismal, 26-35. Folks, I think in baseball, more than any other sport, trends and streaks really play a significant role. Having said that, this is the first meeting between these two teams this season. However, to say that the Giants have dominated the Rockies, would be an understatement. They’ve taken eight consecutive meetings over their division rival. But this isn’t anything new. Going back a bit, they have taken 40 of their last 58 overall meetings, which does include 13 of the last 16 at Coors field. John Brebbia had Denilson Lamet are scheduled here. The Giants right-hander will make his fifth start of the campaign. He has 2-0 with a 3.80 ERA in 2023. Over his career, he’s appeared in 21 games against Colorado, going 1-0 with a 2.20 ERA. The Rockies right-hander is 1-2 with a 13.17 ERA on this season. He has made 12 appearances which includes four starts against San Francisco, going 1-1 with a 5.22 ERA, Guys, I don’t expect either pitcher to see much action. Probably no more than two innings apiece. But that definitely benefits San Francisco, which surely owns the stronger bullpen. They travel pretty well, 5-2 their last seven on the road. Meanwhile, Colorado is just 1-4 their last five games played following an off day, 16-35 their last 51 versus the NL West, and 2-5 their last seven overall. I like San Fran here.
