Game 386. 12:30 pm pst. In their four losses this season, Rice has been outscored 185-24. Granted, Arkansas, Houston, Texas, and UTSA are formidable foes. But so is UAB. The Blazers are picking up steam. With a 3-1 mark both SU and ATS over the last month, their offense is getting stronger and stronger with each outing. But it has been their defense that has stood out. Against the rush, the pass, total yards allowed, they are outstanding. Overall, their stop-unit ranks 21st, yielding just 19.0 PPG. Guys, the Owls only account for a paltry 16.0 PPG to begin with. Look for UAB’s stout defense to completely shut down the Rice offense. This will allow the well-balanced Blazers “O” to wear down the Owls “D”, move the chains at will, and light up the scoreboard. If you’re concerned about Dylan Hopkins status, don’t be. Even if the quarterback doesn’t go, backup, Tyler Johnston will be ready, willing, and able to fill in without skipping a beat.
