Free Sports Game Preview and Prediction: Providence vs. Connecticut
Thursday, March 09, 2023 2:30 PM
Play: Point Spread: -7/-110 Connecticut
I have 5 BIG NCAAB TOURNEY WINNERS for today, including several that I consider the strongest and highest-rated I have released in weeks. Get all of my winning information right here and you will have a very profitable day. Thursday’s FREE WINNER: Connecticut Huskies. Game 730. 11:30 AM PST/2:30 PM EST Well sports fans, this is a very interesting matchup. You know this game is being played at Madison Square Garden, which really will see a mixture of both fans in attendance today. Providence was one of the best home teams in the country this season. But fell off a little bit towards the end of the year, dropping their last two games, both playing host to Xavier and Seton Hall. They lost a little bit of their luster as soon as February hit, as they finished the campaign just 4-5 straight up and for our purposes, also 4-5 against the spread. They are facing one of the hottest teams in the Big East in UConn. Let’s face it, the Huskies finished strong, winning five in a row and eight of the last nine straight up. And seven of those nines against the number. These two teams split their two meetings this season as each home team won and covered. As I mentioned earlier, playing at the Garden really doesn’t benefit either, folks. However, you cannot ignore the fact, the Huskies own a very frustrating defense. They’ve allowed just 64.8-points per game on the campaign. And I think you’re going to see them frustrate the Friars offense. Now, one thing that has played in Providence’s favor offensively, is they are good on the boards. But, (and there is always a but sports fans), but they face the sixth-ranked defensive rebounding core in the nation. Connecticut is also a very physical team and they themselves are very good on the glass. Not only that, but offensively they can score points as well. They average 79-points per game. They hit almost 76% from the line (I expect a very physical game and free throws will be significant) and they are one of the best in the country also on the offensive boards. They will get a lot of second-chance opportunities here. Personally, I wish this line was a little bit lower. However, I would definitely have to lean on Connecticut here folks. By the way, Providence has covered just five of the last 19 games played on neutral sites. Like I said, I wish the line was a little bit lower, but I definitely put opinion on the Huskies. Thank you.
