Free Pick on Northwestern - I think we are getting some decent value here with the Wildcats as a road favorite here against a bad Rutgers team. Northwestern comes in at 13-4 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten play. No shame in their two conference losses, as they lost at Michigan State and by just 4 at home to a very talented Minnesota team. Their two wins have both come on the road, knocking off Penn State 87-77 as a 3.5-point favorite and Nebraska 74-66 as a 1-point favorite. Rutgers is worse than both the Nittany Lions and Cornhuskers. With Northwestern trying to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, this is a game they won't take lightly and I believe a lack of effort is all that can keep the Wildcats from winning and covering here. Rutgers has yet to win a Big Ten game and have lost 3 of their 4 conference games by 10 or more, including a 13-point loss at home to Penn State. Wildcats are 18-8 ATS in their last 26 road games and a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last 6 as a road favorite or pick'em. At the same time, Rutgers is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 off a road loss, 0-6 ATS in their last 6 after 2 or more road losses and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 as a home dog of 6.5 to 9.5 points.
