Free Sports Game Preview and Prediction: New Mexico vs. San Jose State

New Mexico has been a pleasant surprise this season standing 3-1 overall heading into conference play. The Lobos have proven their worth on the road beating UCLA in convincing fashion by a final of 35-10, while also looking respectable in a loss at Michigan to open the year. In their last outing New Mexico impressed with a solid 38-20 win over rival New Mexico State. We didn’t have as high of hopes for New Mexico after their QB Dampier transferred to Utah, but the Lobos have reloaded better than expected. San Jose State has been one of the biggest disappointments in the MWC so far this season standing 1-3 overall with their only win coming against an FCS opponent in competitive fashion. San Jose State opened the year with a very bad loss at home to Central Michigan and home field hasn’t been all that kind to the Spartans. Last week SJSU burned us as they were able to get the slight cover in their 29-30 loss on the road against Stanford, but the Spartans have to be kicking themselves with how they let that one get away. Given how these teams have trended through the first month+ of action, we like New Mexico getting the points as a solid value bet.
