Saturday’s FREE NCAAB WINNER: UNLV REBELS on the ML. Game 816. 8:30 PM PST/11:30 PM EST. As a 35-year Las Vegas resident, I can sincerely state that I know the Mountain West Conference very well. To be quite honest, many out there feel there will be several of this Conference’s representatives playing come Tournament time. Having said that, UNLV sits tied for third place, at 7-4 Conference play, while Nevada sits a few spots behind them at 6-5. Overall, the Rebels own a 14-9 record, as the Wolfpack sports a bit better mark at 19-6. It's hard to ignore the fact UNLV has won and covered the last four meetings in this series, and enter today's matchup running red-hot, winning five in a row SU, and going 4-1 ATS. They are also money at home, donning an overall record of 8-3 and covering five of their last six games played as host. While this is always a competitive rivalry, I doubt Nevada can shake off the funk of a tough, one-point heartbreaking loss at home in their last outing, at the hands of New Mexico. They do struggle a bit when they travel, especially against the spread, covering just one of their last four away from home. The Rebels come in here a bit healthier for sure. There is such a huge advantage in college basketball when playing at home, and I certainly see the benefit of that for UNLV here. While I will admit, Nevada has a bit more explosiveness to their offense, the home team here possesses five double-digit scorers. They may not be as flashy, but they get the job done, and they're extremely unselfish. Oh, and let’s not forget they possess a very strong rebounding core, as well. Take UNLV. But just to err on the side of caution, take them on the money line for the extra few pennies. Thank you.
