Game 48. 6:30 PM PST/9:30 PM EST. As of posting this Free Play, I see most of the general public coming in on the Dallas Stars. I’m not going to lie to you, I liked Dallas in the first game of this series, and not only did I lose, I lost badly. The Minnesota Wild came out and destroyed the home team in Game 1, 6-1. Yes, it’s true, Minnesota has taken five of the last eight matchups with Dallas going back to late-December of 2024. And they are pretty good team, amassing an overall record this season of 47-24-12, which does include a 24-14-4 away mark. They rank in the top-10 in the NHL in both goals scored (3.3) and goals against (2.9). As I mentioned a moment, this team is a good team. But so are the Dallas stars. They possess an overall record of 50-21-12, and are one of the stronger teams playing on their own ice in hockey this season, going 26-12-4 at the American Airlines Arena. Prior to Saturday’s defeat, they were riding a five-game hot streak. They too possess some very good numbers, ranking ninth in the NHL in goals scored (3.3), and second in goals against (2.7). I feel the Stars must come out here and prove a point. Yes, obviously they must get a win here to even up the series. But I really think they need to come out here and make a statement to the Wild, and win with authority. Take Dallas. Thank you.
