Saturday’s FREE WINNER: Maryland Terrapins. Game 612. 12:30 PM PST/3:30 PM EST. This is a tough matchup for two Big Ten opponents that certainly dislike one another. Maryland has taken three in a row in this rivalry, both straight up and against the spread, which includes the only meeting this season 10 days ago on the road, 71-65. Both teams won easily yesterday, as the Wolverines took down the Boilermakers, 86-68, and the Terrapins bested the Fighting Illini, 88-65. But Michigan prior to that, lost three in a row, and four of their last six straight up, and failed to cover seven of their previous nine. Maryland has won four in a row, and eight of the last nine straight up, covering seven of those nine contests. Both teams have a strong presence up front, and solid backcourts. Overall, the Terrapins put up better numbers offensively, yield less defensively, and are much better from both the free-throw, and three-point lines Maryland is rolling, and will ride that momentum here again.
