Just about every team in the NCAA playing at a high level has some instinct as to when teams will pass the ball on them - and the Wildcats defend it pretty darn well. Northwestern also has to keep their defense in the game vs the Spartans - they have to control the momentum here. Michigan State has also had their problem defending the slot positions, Northwestern should get some easy targets in the middle of the field. The entire team needs to keep their head on a swivel when going across the field on defense. Michigan State has struggled to be able to make teams adjust with different looks. And if their QB, Anthony Russo, can get rid of the ball faster it would be great for them - he is going to need to read quick enough and make the throws when facing DTs coming on hard. This will be about the defense down the stretch as the Wildcats can end drives when they need to. Spartans are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 conference games Northwestern wins by double digits on Friday.
