But I am gonna’ argue that laying this many points is a huge mistake made by the oddsmakers. The Jayhawks have earned their number five ranking for sure. But to say they’ve been inconsistent this season is an understatement. Remember, sports betting isn’t about who wins, it’s about who covers. The Wildcats enter today’s contest covering four of their last five overall and when they take it on the road things get better as they are 10-2 ATS the last 12 as a visitor and 16-5 ATS the last 21 as a road ‘dog. Well Kansas can put up points on just about any team in the conference or any team in the country for that matter. But Kansas States defense is pretty darn good. They allow just 65.0 points per game and are third in the nation defending the “3”, allowing just 27.8% shooting from beyond the arc. While they don’t score nearly as much as their opponent here, the Jayhawks “D” isn’t what it used to be either. The Wildcats trio of double-digit scoring guards: Pack, Smith, and Nowell, will control the tempo here and make this game a lot closer than it’s double-digits point spread. Take Kansas State.
