The Royals will start Mitch Spence, who has struggled to a 4.91 ERA while allowing nearly 10 hits per nine innings.
On the mound for Washington is Andrew Alvarez, a young arm who has impressed with a 3.05 career ERA. His breaking stuff is above average and that might be enough to pacify a weak Royals offense.
