Jacksonville was the lowest division winner coming in at 9-8 while Kansas City was the top AFC team with a 14-3 record and are coming off a bye week. Jacksonville was 8-4 in conference games, but just 4-5 on the road and had to comeback from down 27-0 at one point and down 20 points at halftime. That was not how the game ended as the Jaguars stiffened up on defense and corrected turnovers on offense to win 31-30 and advance to this game. Kansas City was 7-1 at home, 9-3 in conference games, and had a point differential of +127 which was second in the AFC and fourth in the NFL. Both of these teams are playing well coming in on a five game winning streak. Jacksonville is 9-9 against the spread and Kansas City went 6-10-1 against the spread. These two teams did square off in the regular season in Kansas City with the Chiefs winning 27-17 behind four touchdowns from Mahomes along with 331 yards passing, but he did have an interception. Lawrence had a decent game with a pair of touchdowns, 259 yards passing and no interceptions. Kirk had a big game receiving for Jacksonville with nine catches, 105 yards and two touchdowns. Kelce was the top receiver for the Chiefs with six catches, 81 yards and one touchdown. Kansas City's defense was strong with five sacks of Lawrence for -19 yards while Jacksonville's defense forced three turnovers including a pair of fumbles. Kansas City had 155 yards rushing and look for them to establish the run to open up the passing even more and keep Jacksonville's defense on their heels and guessing on their way to winning 33-20 as Mahomes and Kelce hook up a couple of times in the endzone.
