Preseason predictions are that Houston and Los Angeles are supposed to finish first and second in the Division. Houston has had their way in this rivalry winning six of the last eight in L.A., seven of the last 10 overall, and going back a bit further 43 of the last 63. Valdez and Ohtani are scheduled to start here. Both pitchers had very similar statistics a year ago in the win/loss column, in ERA, and even in games started. While Valdez certainly has a little bit better control, Ohtani is little better with strikeouts. At the start of this season, the Astros are a little healthier. And in my opinion, have a more consistent and solid lineup. Throw into the mix that Los Angeles is 0-5 the last five games as a favorite, 1-6 the last seven games during Game 1 of a series, and 2-10 the last 12 games played at home and I’m going to take the underdog Astros here.
