Detroit was able to win in Cleveland in the wildcard round after blowing the big division lead. Seattle was able to get hot down the stretch and overtake Houston for the division and pull away. In the regular meetings between these two clubs Seattle won four of the six games, but just one at home. Detroit has Troy Melton throwing who is 3-2 on the year in 16 games with four starts and an ERA of 2.76. Melton was 1-1 on the road with a 3.47 ERA. Seattle is throwing their ace in George Kirby who went 10-8 this season with a 4.21 ERA, 5-4 at home with a 3.38 ERA and 1-0 against Detroit with an ERA over seven. Look for Kirby to have enjoyed the rest off and come out sharp throwing six shutout innings in a 6-2 win for the Mariners. Play Seattle
