If the line in this matchup wasn't so high, this would've most-likely made it as a premium release for us. I was tempted to still put it out there but can't go above -140 on a paid release. That's my own beliefs and guidelines, my friends. However, at $1.65 I still think there's money to be made on the Detroit Tigers here. Detroit finished last season in second place in the American League Central at 78-84. Once again, this team is forecasted to finish second in the Central Division of the American League. They must come out of the gate and make a statement to the rest of the division right now on Opening Day. What better team to face to make their point than the Chicago White Sox. The Tigers have had their way with their division rival, taking five of the last six meetings. They also open up this season with a lot of optimism with some new additions and knowing they finished the last season pretty hot, on a 6-1 run. If you recall a season ago, Detroit had a better away record than their home record (41-40 on the road, 37-44 at home). The White Sox finished last season at 61-101 and fourth place in the Central. They were equally bad at home as they were on the road sporting almost exact records (home record 31-50, away record 30-51). This is a team with no false expectations about this season. They are in a rebuilding year and still they don't have a ton of talent to work with. The White Sox finished last season off on a 3-7 run. Scheduled starters today are Tarik Skubal and Garret Crochet. The Detroit left-hander, who was dealing with an injury a season ago, still went 7-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 15 starts. Over his career he owns a very respectable, 5-2 record with a 4.73 ERA in eight starts against Chicago. For the White Sox, their left-hander is making his first ever start on Opening Day. And after 72 relief appearances prior to making this start, it's been a while since he's taken the mound at the start of a game. While he possesses some solid numbers against today's opponent, he just doesn't have what it takes to pitch well for a prolonged period of time. And the Chicago White Sox bullpen can’t help too much either. Take Detroit Tigers. Thank you.
