This is a play on the ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS for our Friday Free Play. Chicago took two of three at San Diego and the Cubs are now a respectable 7-8 on the road as it heads to Arizona to conclude this six-game roadtrip. They have struggled this season on the mound as they are ranked No. 25 in runs allowed, No. 25 in opposing batting average allowed and No. 28 in opposing OBP. The bullpen has been decent but the starters have really had issues, posting a 4.98 ERA. The offense is not far behind as prior to the series with the Padres, San Diego scored two runs or less in eight of its previous nine games, putting up only 1.3 rpg. The Cubs are 15-41 in their last 56 games against teams with a winning record. Arizona has won its first two series in this nine-game homestand, winning four of the six games to move to 9-9 at home. The Diamondbacks are trying to keep pace in the National League West as they are two games over .500 overall which has them in fourth place, just four games behind the Dodgers. The pitching has led the way with a 3.55 ERA including a 2.43 ERA from the starting pitching and they send Zach Davies to the hill who came here vying for a backend starter role and he has been solid with a 3.34 ERA including a 2.95 ERA over his last four starts. Arizona is 15-5 in its last 20 home games after having won four or five of their last six games. Here, we play on home favorites with a money line of -110 or higher with a starting pitcher whose gives up 0.5 or fewer home runs per start, after a game where the bullpen allowed six or more earned runs.
