Take St. Louis -1.5 over Chicago (7 p.m. EST, Saturday February 8) We were on the Blackhawks puckline on Friday at home vs. Nashville for an easy 6-2 outright winner for Chicago. The Blackhawks have been playing excellent hockey. But now they are on a back-to-back, on the road, and they are “Fat and Happy” as we say in handicapping circles as they have to be satisfied with their recent performance and this might be a throwaway game where they don’t give full effort. The Blues haven’t been playing well, but they have faced a murderer’s row of opponents recently. Their recent struggles have seen them fall down the standings, and they are now eight points out of the last wildcard. With their tough schedule recently, we feel this is almost a must-win game at home. This is certainly their easiest matchup since early January when they beat Anaheim here at home, 6-2. The Blues have owned this series and have won eight of the last 10 meetings. All eight of those wins were by multiple goals.
