Free Sports Game Preview and Prediction: Carolina Panthers vs. Houston Texans

Play: Point Spread: -7.5/-125 Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers head to Houston to take on the Texans on Thursday Night Football in week three.
The Panthers are now 2-0 after a dominant home field win over the Saints. Sam Darnold had one of the best games of his career passing for 305 yards and two TDs while being sacked twice and intercepted once. McCaffrey found the endzone this week and put up 137 combined yards, a mediocre day by his standards.
Defensively the Panthers dominated the Saints allowing only seven points, sacking Winston four times and picking him off twice, if this defense is this good Carolina could be the 2nd best team in the NFC South.
The Texans managed to keep things close against the Browns but with Tyrod Taylor going down with a hamstring injury they would eventually lose 21-31. With all the drama surrounding the Deshaun Watson situation Davis Mills will be getting the start at QB on Thursday night and while he looked ok in the snaps he got last week I am not expecting miracles on the short week. The Houston Running game is not looking good enough to make up for the deficiencies of a rookie QB and Defense wasn’t a bright spot last week either as they allowed Baker Mayfield to complete nearly all his passes and Chubb to run for nearly 100 yards on only 11 carries.
Take Carolina to get the win and cover on the road in this game as they are healthy and the overall better team.
