Green Bay Packers vs. Tennessee Titans (NFL) - 1:00 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -155 Tennessee Titans Rating: 8* Mike's NFL Desperation Delivers Play Of The Day (LOSS)
In my decades of handicapping, I've learned an 0-2 SU home team is a very dangerous team to pay since it usually means the season (not week) is on the line. What intrigues me is this. The Titans' are VERY FAMILIAR with opposing QB Malik Willis since they just cast him off to Green Bay recently. Having said that, Willis is JUST LEARNING the Pack system & schemes. He'll be a work in progress until Jordan Love is back being effective again. It was tough for him to break the 100-yard passing mark while @ Tennessee. Last week, he handed the ball off 47 times! It's hard for me to fathom the Titans' "D" will have difficulty stopping a one-dimensional offense. My bottom line looks @ a 14-year system that says that 0-2 SU teams taking on 1-1 SU squads have gone a sizzling 70% versus the spread (35-15-1). I feel Tennessee who outgained the Bears (244 to 148) & the Jets (300 to 265) will have home & statistical advantages in a desperate situation that'll be tough to overcome. Let's ride into Nissan Stadium in Nashville to play the TENNESSEE TITANS on the ML @ -155 for 8 Stars as my NFL Desperation Delivers Play Of The Day & in a 3-teamer with Cleveland +3 1/2 & Chicago + 10 1/2 @ +130 odds! (7 Stars)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints (NFL) - 1:00 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -140 New Orleans Saints Rating: 9* Mike's NFL Public Missed Perception Play (LOSS)
Jon Q Publics & the mushes have lost touch with reality for this one. C'mon! Do the Eagles still have a 1-1 SU record if Packers' QB Jordan Love doesn't go down with an injury? Let's NOT over-think this. Philadelphia's secondary have not grasped DC Vic Fangio's complex schemes & it might take awhile. In the meantime, New Orleans hires their new OC Klint Kubiak in to covert their old run scheme into an outside zone-type offense. What has been the result? The Saints have rushed for 370 yards in 2 weeks while their own rushing "D" yielded just 116 & face a Philly Steak N' Cheese "D" yielding 6 yards per rush! Despite passing the ball 33 times less in 2 games, Derek Carr has out-yarded his opponents by 21 yards with a 5/1 TD/INT ratio & 77% completions! Now the Who Dats get to take on a HC Nick Sirianni who (last week) made mistakes like eschewing a FG on the opening drive as well as passing the ball late when Atlanta had no timeouts. My bottom line looks @ a system (the in the past 16 years) that teams gaining more than 6.75 yards per play in the 1st 2 weeks have ALSO continued to play week in Week 3 going 18-7 ATS as well as SU. Remember, the Saints' CARR is very familiar with Fangio's schemes having faced them when he was with the Raiders playing Denver. It makes no sense BUCKNG a New Orleans team sitting with a 2.4 YPP margin versus the Eagles who are @ -1.4 (close to a 4 YPP deficit). Let's go to the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana to play the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS on the ML @ -140 for 9 Stars as my NFL public Missed Perception Play!
New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns (NFL) - 1:00 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Point Spread: -6.5/-110 Cleveland Browns Rating: 9* Mike's Sunday NFL Power Play (LOSS)
It's tough to back ANY team that has a QB who throws MORE pick sixes to his opponents than TD passes to his own team. Does HC Brian Daboll make things any easier by failing to a have a healthy kicker on the roster in case his #1 man, Graham Gano goes out with an injury? Last week, the Giants became the 1st team in NFL HISTORY to lose a game in regulation after scoring 3 TD's & giving up none. That's over 100 years of games! There's not much to think about in this game besides QB Daniel Jones (his offense sits @ a -96.5 yard deficit per game) running to avoid the pressures created by Edge-Rusher/DE Myles Garrett & Co. My bottom line says compounding New York's problems is a short week Thursday game immediately on deck with hated division rival, the Dallas Cowboys. I'm OVERJOYED to go to Huntington Bank Field in Ohio to play the CLEVELAND BROWNS (buying to -2 1/2 @ -235 as my 9 Star Sunday NFL Power Play!
Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts (NFL) - 1:00 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Point Spread: +1/-105 Chicago Bears Rating: 8* Mike's NFL Ugly Pig Underdog Play Of The Week (LOSS)
It hurts writing this as a Colts' fan but facts are facts. Indy QB Anthony Richardson is a work in progress with around 6 games under his belt. He now faces a AMPED-UP pass rush that's HOUNDED opposing QB's with 6 registered sacks & 4 turnovers thus far. On the flip side, Chicago QB Caleb Williams goes to a fast track with RB's D'Andre Swift & Khalil Herbert getting to face an Indianapolis defense that's already been carved up for an absurd 237 YPG & are now missing their best run stuffer in Pro Bowl DT DeForest Buckner. Look Da' Bears to play smash-mouth football & control the clock in an ugly matchup with not much viewership. Let's slowly make our way to Luca Oil Stadium in Indiana to play the CHICAGO BEARS +1 for 8 Stars as my NFL Ugly Pig Underdog Play Of The Week!
