Yes, I am well aware of the fact that Providence has dropped 10 straight. However, with right back revenge and the ability to put points on the board (ranked seventh in the nation averaging 81.6 ppg), the Friars are certainly capable of keeping this game close and possibly pulling off the first round upset. My college basketball system book agrees.
The motivating factor in this conference tournament situation is revenge. Back on March 6th, Providence (+1') hosted Seton Hall in its final home game and suffered a brutal 92-80 loss. According to my college basketball database, conference tournament teams in the Opening Round or "Donkey Round" of their conference tournaments are a phenomenal 59-23 ATS provided they are playing with same season single revenge, enter off back-to-back straight up losses and a pointspread loss last. By adding three additional parameters that will remain for my eyes only, this amazing system explodes to a rewarding 20-0 ATS for 100.0 percent! Providence fits the general situation and the awesome tightener!
There are a couple noteworthy team trends that back this investment too. As a conference underdog priced at +5 or more coming off a pointspread loss of nine points or more, the Friars are a red-hot 15-8 ATS. Meanwhile, Seton Hall is just 14-24 ATS priced as a favorite of -5 or more including a dismal 3-10 ATS in Big East action battling a foe that checks in off a straight up loss.
The Pirates got the best of the Friars on Saturday. It's time for PC to return the favor. Take Providence. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.

After dropping nine straight from December 28th to January 26th, Rutgers played much better basketball at the end of the season. The Scarlet Knights closed by winning six of their final 11 games including an impressive victory over No. 7 Georgetown. In that nine-game skid, RU dropped a 65-58 decision at home to Cincinnati and the Knights will be primed for a little payback here.

I'll have no trouble fading UC as a favorite either. When priced as chalk, the Bearcats have lost their growl posting a dismal 16-35-1 ATS record in its last 52 tries including a miserable 6-21 ATS in this role coming off a straight up loss (0-9 ATS in their last nine in this tightener)!
In the Opening Round or "Donkey Round" of the conference tournaments, favorites that enter off a blowout loss of 20 points or more are a soft 8-17 ATS provided their opponent checks in off a straight up loss including a woeful 3-14 ATS if their foe is off two or more straight up losses. That doesn't bode well for Cincy. The Bearcats may own a little bit better talent. However, the Scarlet Knights are more than capable of pulling off this minor upset. Take Rutgers. Dayton closed with a pair of straight up losses at Richmond and at home to St. Louis and that fact isn't sitting too well with UD head coach Brian Gregory or the Flyers players. Rest assured, First-Team All-Atlantic 10 selection Chris Wright will have his teammates motivated for this conference tournament battle.
The University of Dayton has played well in this series posting a solid 10-4 SU and ATS record in the last 14 meetings including a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS provided the Flyers check in without momentum off a straight up loss. Equally impressive, at home off back-to-back straight up losses and going into revenge, UD has been a solid investment posting a sensational 10-0 SU and ATS record in its last 10 tries.
This isn't the best spot for George Washington either. On foreign soil matched up against an opponent that checks in off a straight up loss as a favorite, the Colonials are a miserable 3-15 SU and 3-14-1 ATS including a stunning 0-12 SU and ATS priced as a dog of +13 or less. That's only part of the bad news. In the Opening Round or Donkey Round of the A-10 Tournament, underdogs are a disturbing 17-35 ATS including a horrendous 1-18 SU and 2-17 ATS in this set provided they're matched up against a foe that checks in off a SU and ATS loss. Please note: If our "play against" dog is battling an opponent that holds a won/loss percentage less than .675, this tournament situation crashes to a stunning 0-17 SU and ATS. George Washington (along with Duquesne and UMass) fits this angle and the awesome tightener perfectly.
In their first A-10 tournament game, the Flyers have soared posting a sensational 11-1 SU and 8-3-1 ATS record including a perfect 5-0 ATS in this set laying double digits. UD got embarrassed on Senior Night by St. Louis. That won't happen here. Take Dayton. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.
