Carmelo Anthony has been a superstar for years, scoring from all over the court. A career 24.8 point scorer and a 46% shooter from the field. Melo has been proven as a scorer throughout his NBA for 7 years.

Playing at Syracuse, he scored 22 a night for the 30-5 Orange, taking them to the NCAA championship and winning it all in 202-2003 beating Kansas. After only 1 season, he decided to take his game to the next level, and fit it quite fine, scoring 21 ppg in his rookie season, coming out in the draft of All-Stars, which also bred such players like LeBron, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade and David West as well.

When he was drafted by the Nuggets with the 3rd pick, he straight away helped the team, to 43 wins in his rookie season, improving them from 17 wins the year before. And in 7 years playing in Colorado, he has placed himself in the record books for the Denver Nuggets, placing 3rd in career scoring, 3rd in minutes played, 10th in assists, and 6th in three pointers made.

Then it took the twist, he wanted out. After several years of no rings, six 1st round outs, and only making it passed the 1st round 1 other time, issues with George Karl; things were going sour in the mountain state for Melo. He made it quite apparent to everyone around he wanted out of Denver.

Finally, after searching practically everywhere he landed in the big apple, New York City, right where he wanted to be. He and teammate Chauncey Billups went East and paired up with power scorer Amare Stoudemire, playing for offensive minded head coach, Mike D'Antoni, everything looked like a great fit.

But, did New York give up too much for Melo, losing Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, and Raymond Felton in the big trade as just a few of the pieces. In Denver, they continued to win, which I think surprised many naysayers, across the league. Since the trade went down, The Nuggets went on with a 18-9 record in Melo’s absence, with the “leftovers” that New York felt were worth giving up for 1 player, playing .667 ball, which was better than when they had Anthony leading the team. Meanwhile New York went 13-14 in that same time span with Carmelo added with Amare. So how did it all work out for the both of them?

Can Carmelo be a leader? Can he be the man to take your team to the championship? He did in college, still trying to be the man on his NBA team and lead them to the promised land, now he has a team around him, where he is happy (for now), lets see what they can do.

Personally, I think New York gave up way too much for him. The Nuggets have a great coach and have a bright future. The playoffs this year will be very interesting, which team makes it further?
