Coming soon enough will be an exciting, great and amazing day for a group of young ball players from their college hoop careers to take the next step into their hopeful professions. Going to the NBA is no small step by any means, like all drafts, there are always those concerns, but this year seems like a really solid draft class to become professional ballers at the next level.
Of course people will change their opinions on many players and where they should go and where they will go. And of course, not everyone has declared yet who will or will not be entering the draft this year.
We watch the college ball season, and then comes the NCAA tourney which can either greatly weaken ones NBA stock or increase a players stock as well.
Here is a list of the potential NBA prospects and who I believe have the top 10 NBA promise that is in the draft this year. Not necessarily who I think will get drafted in this order, my best top 10 estimations.
1-Anthony Davis; 6-10, Power Forward, Freshman, Kentucky, 14.3 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 4.6 BPG, great shot blocker with tremendous timing. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
2-Thomas Robinson; 6-9, Power Forward, Junior, Kansas, 17.7 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 1.9 APG, brilliant rebounder with a soft shot. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
3-Bradley Beal; 6-5, Shooting Guard, Freshman, Florida, 14.8 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 2.2 APG, his length makes him a tough cover for anyone on him, plays 6-8. What he brings to a team; a nice additional piece, spark off the bench.
4-Michael Kidd-Gilchrist; 6-7, Small Forward, Freshman, Kentucky, 12.0 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 1.9 APG, solid defender and rebounder, with 21 games with 2+ blocks or steals in a game. What he brings to a team; a nice additional piece, spark off the bench.
5-Perry Jones; 6-11, Power Forward, Sophomore, Baylor, 13.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 1.3 APG, Mr. Steady to me, very rare to have an off day for him, when he gets his shots, he scores, needs to stay aggressive. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
6-Andre Drummond; 6-11, Center, Freshman, Connecticut, 10.0 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.7 BPG, big boy who takes up a lot of real estate in the middle. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
7-Jared Sullinger; 6-9, Power Forward, Sophomore, Ohio State, 17.6 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 1.2 SPG, strong and large, exceptionally large, should probably shed a few lbs, but still a tremendous talent. What he brings to a team; a nice additional piece, will get playing time, but be patient.
8-Harrison Barnes; 6-8, Small Forward, Sophomore, North Carolina, 17.1 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 1.1 SPG, good size, smooth player, another one who plays big, could perhaps get by at the 4 spot a little as well. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
9-Tyler Zeller; 7-0, Center, Senior, North Carolina, 16.3 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 1.5 BPG, excellent size and a big man who isn’t afraid of the free throw line, which seems to be rare these days. What he brings to a team; likely starter from day one.
10-Damian Lillard; 6-2, Point Guard, Junior, Weber State, 24.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 4.0 APG, I really like his pace and his deep ball shooting, he can find a spot on my roster any day. What he brings to a team; a nice additional piece, spark off the bench.
