The Sprint Cup boys move to Talladega this Sunday for the 30th race of the season. Talladega Superspeedway is a 2.66 mile Restrictor Plate Track located in Talladega, Alabama. In my opinion, the most exciting track on the circuit!! Here are my Top 5 drivers to win in Talladega this weekend. We still have to wait for Qualifying and Happy Hour before finalizing our Head to Head matchups. Talladega is normally a very good money track for us!!
For starters, I think Jeff Gordon has the best shot of winning this race. Gordon has 6 wins, 13 Top 5 finishes and 16 Top 10 finishes in his 31 starts here in Talladega. Gordon has an average finish of 15.0 here in Talladega. Past 2 years, Jeff Gordon's average finish at track type - RESTRICTOR PLATE TRACK is 15.0. In 7 races, he has 2 wins and 4 top 10 finishes.
Next in line I would go with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt Jr. has 5 wins, 7 Top 5 finishes and 10 Top 10 finishes in 17 starts here in Talladega. Earnhardt Jr. has an average finish of 14.1 here in Talladega which is 4th best among all active drivers. Everybody knows Jr. is normally a good bet here.
Then, back in my 3rd spot, I have to go with Kurt Busch. Busch has no wins, 6 Top 5 finishes and 11 Top 10 finishes in his 15 starts in Talladega. Kurt Busch has an average finish of 11.9 here in Talladega which is the best among all active drivers. Kurt Busch's average finish at track type - RESTRICTOR PLATE TRACK is 14.1. In 7 races, he has 0 wins and 5 top 10 finishes.
Looking at my pick for the 4th spot we turn to Tony Stewart. Stewart has no wins, 8 Top 5 finishes and 11 Top 10 finishes in his 19 starts in Talladega. Stewart has an average finish of 13.9 in Talladega which is 3rd best among all active drivers.
Rounding out my Top 5 and sitting in the 5th position is Brian Vickers. Vickers has 1 win, 3 Top 5 finishes and 4 Top 10 finishes in his 9 starts in Talladega. Vickers has an average finish of 17.1 in Talladega.
