There are numerous awards the NFL gives out every season, showing gratitude for excellent play on and off the field. These are the contenders and who I think should be accepting the award this year.

The Offensive Rookie of the Year (OROY)

3- Dez Bryant (WR, Dallas Cowboys). Dez’s explosiveness really showed. Ending his season early with an injury, he finished with 561 yards and 6 TDs.

2- Mike Williams (WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers). The talented Williams finished with 65 catches, 964 yards and led the team with 11 TDs. The 1st 10+ TD wide out since Joey Galloway, back in 2005

1- Sam Bradford (QB, St. Louis Rams). This should be a no brainer. The QB from the Oklahoma Sooners came in and started from day 1. Showing promise early, in week 4 he put up 289 yards and 2 TDs. He got the Rams to a 7-9 record, a 6 game improvement from last season, finishing his rookie season with 3,512 yards, and 18 TDs with the more impressive 15 ints.

The Defensive Rookie of the Year (DROY)

3-Eric Berry (S, Kansas City Chiefs). He came into the draft highly touted, and didn’t disappoint, with 72 tackles, 4 picks he filled the stat sheet.

2-Devin McCourty (DB, New England Patriots). They always seem to find that guy in their drafts. This year was no different. McCourty was superb, with 7 picks, 17 passes defended and 60 tckles.

1-Ndamukong Suh (DT, Detroit Lions). The young defensive tackle had a breakout year. Most people expected him to be good, but he went beyond what most expected. Recording 10 sacks, and 48 tackles for the Lions this season, he gave the Detroit fans something to cheer about watching the defense take the field.

The Coach of the Year (COY)

3- Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers). 12-4. Not having your starting QB for the first 4 games of the season, and still gong 3-1, Tomlin is a very legit, very good coach.

2- Raheem Morris (Tampa Bay Buccaneers). 10-6. Playing with 10 rookies on their team, being led by a 22 year old QB, and getting 7 more wins than in 2009!

1- Todd Haley (Kansas City Chiefs). 10-6. The Todd Haley experiment has gone excellent. They were 4-12 in 2009, now they have a chance to win the Super Bowl. They can proudly say they are one of the tops of the AFC conference. We know the numbers, bringing in the great running game, the efficient quarterbacking and the sudden awakening of Dwayne Bowe.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP)

3- Jamaal Charles (RB, Kansas City Chiefs). The RB carried the ball less than most full time RBs, and still soaked up 1,467 yards, on a monstrous 6.4/carry average. Staying healthy, this speed demon is going to be top of the charts for years to come.

2- Michael Vick (QB, Philadelphia Eagles). His transformation from a throwing RB to becoming an actual QB who has the ability to run, if need be, was awesome to watch. His season was nothing short of amazing. Picking up his field smarts, completing 63% of his passes, 3,018 yards, and his 21 TDs this year were a career high.

1- Tom Brady (QB, New England Patriots). The man who sports the shaggy locks and gets all the attention from the lovers and the haters. Brady is without doubt the best in the league throwing the ball around. No matter who he has to throw to, they become relevant. 3,900 yards, 66% completions, 36 TDs, and a meager 4 ints. All in leading his team to a 14-2 record and home field throughout the playoffs. He can play indoors, outdoors; it makes no difference to #12. Brady is something every football fan should admire when he steps onto the field. Tony Karpinski and VegasTopDogs.com
